ABOUT THE BOOKSHOP
Au Scriptorium
The scriptorium refers to a place, generally adjoining a library, devoted to writing, where monks most often copied, illuminated, and translated books.
Notably present within monasteries, these dedicated spaces were entrusted with the mission of disseminating works and building libraries, long before the later rise of the printing press.
I chose this name because it embodies, to my mind, the transmission and sharing of the extraordinary richness that books represent—a transmission that we continue, in our own modest way, as booksellers of both antiquarian and modern works.
